OpTic Gaming is breaking up the reigning Call of Duty League Championship squad by reportedly dropping Kenneth “Kenny” Williams for Cesar “Skyz” Bueno.

It’s been a turbulent year for OpTic Texas. In December 2024, after the first weekend of matches, the organization suddenly dropped Pred without any explanation.

At Major 1, OpTic disappointed with a top-eight finish, but Pred returned ahead of Major 2 Online Qualifiers, reuniting the title-winning roster. Expectations were high heading into the stage, but the star-studded team failed to recapture the same magic from the previous season.

OpTic went 1-6 in Online Qualifiers, forcing a change ahead of its home event.

OpTic Texas reportedly replaces Kenny with Skyz

OpTic Gaming confirmed that Kenny is departing the team. Since joining Texas in 2023, Kenny proved to be the missing piece and played a pivotal role in helping OpTic secure its first World Championship since 2017.

It’s hard to believe that other teams won’t be interested in picking up Kenny right away, as the two-time World Champion has a stacked resume.

CDLIntel reported that Skyz will replace Kenny.

Skyz started the season on Los Angeles Guerillas M8 but was benched in February and replaced by Preston “Priestahh” Greiner. Skyz is a respected veteran with over 6 years of professional experience.

In 2023, Skyz won a world championship with the New York Subliners and was a steady hand throughout that run, always coming up with big kills and consistent performances.

With Dashy as the lead AR and the electrifying SMG duo of Pred and Shotzzy, Skyz fits the flex role perfectly and can either fill in as an SMG or AR when needed.
